Threads and overlays were stored in the small lockable wooden box, and the needle
cushion was also hidden in it from the children.

The cut crystal liquor bottle, two glasses and the wine glass set were usually used on
family and religious holidays and were stored in a clearly visible place in the house (the
clean room).
282. PARAFFIN CHANDELIER
The paraffin lamp, with its wide variety, was one of the most characteristic objects of the
urbanisation of village life. The owner of this ornate piece, which was hanging from the
ceiling, could have belonged to a richer social class.
283. PRACTICE EMBROIDERY
At the beginning and middle of the 20th century household skills were also taught in
elementary school, for example in addition to making clothes, the girls also learned
embroidery and practised it on such „practice” pieces.
