SPEARHEAD
The iron weapon was found in an avar horseman’s grave, they found it on the back of
horse, and the presence of the kopja (spear like weapon) and the iron stirrup in the grave
indicates that the man buried there was a member of the famous and infamous Avar
armoured cavalry, or a member of the elite.

6. A PAIR OF STIRRUPS
The pair of stirrups was found in a grave from the Avar period (the Avars were the first to
use iron stirrups in Europe), and the presence of the iron stirrup and the kopja (spear like
weapon) in the grave may indicate that the man buried there was a member of the famous
and infamous Avar armoured cavalry, or a member of the elite.

7. A PAIR OF EARRINGS
This typical Eastern bronze jewellery was found in Early Avar grave, in which a little girl
probably was buried.

8.
