3. TERRA SIGILLATA BOWL
The terra sigillata vessels, called the porcelain of antiquity, were covered with a
mysterious red glaze and were made and decorated by skilled craftsmen, for example,
Hercules and Victoria appear on the relief of this bowl.
18. TERRA SIGILLATA PLATE
The owner of this terra sigillata vessel expressed the value of this vessel by scratching the
following text in the bottom „I belong to Maximinus, give me back to him!”.
20. POMPEIAN RED BOWL
The soldiers really liked this vessel form from the end of the 1st century until the end of
the 2nd century.
21. LID
Such a simple clay lid with a handle was used most often in Pannonia.
36. BRONZE VESSEL
This vessel, together with several others, belonged to the cargo of a ship that sank on the
Danube, some of them had the owner’s name written on them, hence we know that the
ship came from Brigetio, which now it”s called Szőny.
48. BRONZE HANDLE
This handle, which is depicting a mask, belonged to a wine jug, this vessel was
indispensable for the feasts of the wealthy.
57. AMPHORA
This clay vessel with characteristic handles was used to transport or package wine, oil or
fish sauce (garum) from the East, Italy or Hispania.
58. THE DENARIUS
The silver coins were found in the basement of the camp sanctuary in the middle of the
military camp, and the coins of several rulers (Marcus Aurelius, Caracalla emperors,
Lucilla, Faustina, Salonina empresses) can be found among them.
154. JUG
Local Pannonian potter made this clay vessel, which was usually used at the table during
dining.
156. DIPPING BOWL
This clay pot was used in the late Roman Age.
158. HOOK
They were already fishing in the Roman Age, with this hook they caught larger fishes from
the Danube.
185. GLASS PASTE BEAD
The Romans manufactured these beads in large quantities, then sold them to the
neighbouring Sarmatian territories, so this piece could have been part of the shipment to
the Great Plain or belonged to a Sarmatian coming from the other side of the Danube.
186. ARROWHEADS
These iron arrowheads were used by hunters or soldiers.
