The foundation was brought to life in 2001 upon request of the archaeologists of the Matrica Museum in Százhalombatta

Main activities are: supporting the international projects and scientific research of the Museum.

It was named after János Banner, an outstanding 20th century archaeologist exploring prehistory, who is remembered for identifying many prehistoric cultures.
